From the East, specifically from China, comes an incredibly popular cooking vessel - the wok. In Sweden and around the world, the wok has even given its name to a certain type of dishes. Not everyone may know that the pan came before the dish. This says something about the greatness of the wok pan. With its high edges and round shape, the wok resembles hardly anything else in the kitchen. A traditional wok has a round bottom which makes it easier to toss vegetables and meat in the pan. The shape of the wok is also what creates its unique properties. The narrow bottom has a high temperature while it is cooler higher up the sides. This way, what lies at the bottom of the pan cooks at a completely different speed and intensity than what is tossed up against the sides. The wok pan from Orrefors Jernverk comes with a glass lid to retain heat. In this wok pan, you can prepare wonderful dishes such as paella, or why not put it on the grill?
